We are delighted to have been nominated for the National Hotel of the Year.
Radio Devon Children in Need Auction
In November 2009 Radio Devon raised over £20,000 for the BBC Children in Need by holding a telephone auction on the Judi Spiers show.
The Best Western Tiverton Hotel was delighted to be part of the auction and offered a four-course champagne meal for eight people to be cooked in the winners own home by our Executive Head Chef and Served by our General Manager, Rhys Roberts.
Bidding was fast and a generous sum was raised for this very special cause.
Hotel Wins Top International Award
The Best Western Tiverton Hotel has received confirmation of winning an International Excellence in Quality award.
The award based on the quality and service provided is given by Best Western International and to date has been achieved by only three other Best Western Hotels in the country.
The award followed a recent visit from an independent Best Western Hotels Inspector, which confirmed a collection score of 986 out of a possible 1000 points in various categories.
Hotel Director Rhys Roberts said, “I was delighted to receive confirmation of this award from Best Western CEO David Clarke, it recognises the progress of the business over the past few years and demonstrates the fantastic commitment of our staff to high standards and great customer care. I look forward to accepting a special plaque from best Western International on their behalf.”
The 3 star hotel has been in private ownership since 1997 and been a member of Best Western Hotels for the past ten years and is located in the market town of Tiverton in the heart of Devon.
In that time it’s developed extensive facilities including seven conference and banqueting suites and seventy well-appointed bedrooms.
Rhys Roberts added, “Our relationship with Best Western has been excellent, we are a member of the world’s largest consortia of independently owned hotels and for me personally as a Board Director of Best Western Hotels GB, this award means a great deal.”

New Menu
We are delighted to announce the forthcoming launch of our new 'All Things Meat' menu in the Gallery Restaurant. This new menu features traditional beefsteaks and some more specialized dishes to tempt the discerning diner.

Tiverton In Bloom 2009
Ray our gardener has received a well deserved award by winning the annual Tiverton in Bloom competition for 2009. This sought after prize was awarded by an independent panel of local judges who went around the hotel gardens to judge Ray's work. Ray commented, "We are delighted to win the award again, the committee recognised our continued improvement, the gardens benefited this year from excellent growing conditions and our new schemes such as the dedicated herb garden have added something extra".
Stars in our Eyes!!!
Expanding our celebrity guest list we were delighted to welcome Sir David Steel to the hotel in his capacity as President of the Jaguar Drivers Club. Over 50 cars departed from the hotel at one minute intervals for their rally around Devon, returning in the evening to enjoy dinner with us.
We also had the pleasure of welcoming Sheffield Wednesday FC prior to their Coca Cola Championship League game against Plymouth Argyle at Home Park. Congratulations to Sheffield Wednesday who won the game 3-1.
