Barle Valley Safaris was founded in 1998 by Alison Simms and Duncan Waller with one Land Rover operating from Dulverton. Entering its' eighth season the firm now has two Land Rovers based on Dulverton, Dunster and Minehead and carries 2,500 passengers a year to explore the Exmoor National Park. Bicton Botanical Gardens - These wonderful historic Grade One listed gardens have been conferred with the highest conservation status by English Heritage. Knightshayes Court - A National Trust property and a fine Victorian country house with richly decorated Gothic and Romantic interiors by the eccentric designer William Burges. There are celebrated formal gardens containing rare shrubs and specimen trees, lily pools, floral boarders and amusing topiary.
